Formative Assessment Lesson Plan
Technology: This was the formative assessments proficiency! I used Pear Deck to create a self-reflection presentation for all of our students to help us tweak the coming units and projects.

Targeted Learners/Content area: This presentation would likely be used on 6th-8th graders, since our students generally don’t divide up by grade level often. There are only 50 of them, and they work collaboratively on all projects.
Lesson Objectives: The objectives I had in mind when creating this presentation were that students would have a chance to reflect on their own learning so far this school year, would be able to give us feedback on what has gone well in the first month of school, and would be able to synthesize their recently completed Mars colony project by trying to identify the most important thing they learned from the experience.
Lesson Context: This would come at the end of the Mars Colony unit, and at the end of the first quarter of the school year. I chose this time to use this presentation because the kids have gotten oriented to the school and have had a chance to do several projects, so it’s time we get some feedback about how to improve what we’re doing to meet their needs.
Goal of technology use: The goal of this technology in this context is to help us get feedback from our students and allow them a chance to express how they’re doing and what they’ve learned so far in the two or three projects they’ve completed. It’s short, but hopefully it wouldn’t be overwhelming and would be engaging for them!
Brief Description of how technology will be used with students: I would give students the link to this presentation next week after they had finished Phase II of the Mars Colony project (creating a government on Mars). They would have 10 minutes to complete the tasks in the presentation, and students would be working individually, not with a partner. I would want them to be able to reflect honestly about how things are going without the influence of friends and peers.
